Day 1 Saturday:
ROME - ASSISI – SAN GIMIGNANO- SIENA
Early morning departure
for ASSISI, the mystic town of Saint Francis still surrounded by ancient walls.
Time at leiaure to visit the Basilica of Saint Francis with its early
reinassance masterpieces by Giotto and Cimabue. Proceed to SIENA, the beautiful
medieval city renowned for the Palio. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2 Sunday SIENA-
Buffet breakfast. Start the visit of PISA, known
worldwide for its leaning tower (the bell tower of the city’s cathedral), the
city is also home of the University of Pisa. Continue to Florence, panoramic
visit of the beautiful Piazza del Duomo, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del
Fiore, Giotto’s Bell Tower, the Baptistery of St. Joghn and Santa Croce, the 13th
century Franciscan church with Cimabue’s famous crucifix. Rest of the day at
leisure for optional sightseeing or shopping. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3 Monday: FLORENCE- PADUA- VENICE
Buffet breakfast. Departure for PADUA, where you will
have free time to visit the famous
Cathedral of St. Anthony, guarded by Donatello’s “Gattamelata”. Continue on to
VENICE, and upon arrival enjoy a walking tour of this unique city. You will see
the Square and Basilika of St. Mark with the Doge’s Palace, the Bridge of Sighs
and the Prisons. Dinner and overnight.
Day 4 Tuesday: VENICE-
Buffet breakfast. Morning tour to a glass factory
(optional shopping) to see the moulding of the famous venetian murano or
optional tour. In the afternoon departure to Milan (less than 9 by train).
Afternoon at leisure to visiti the city. Overnight.
Day 5 Wednesday: MILAN-
S. MARGHERITA LIGURE- LA SPEZIA
Departure from Milan for Santa Margherita Ligure on
the Italian Riviera (Italy’s Cote D’azur), famous for it’s relaxing beaches.
You will visit also Portofino one of the most beautifu and jet set bays in
Italy famous from the 1960’s, short panoramic visit to see the colourful houses
and picturesque port. Lunch at leisure and in the afternoon continue to la
Spezia, a well known sea town with a
famous ancient naval college. Overnight.
Day 6 Thursday:
LA SPEZIA- CINQUE TERRE- LA SPEZIA
Buffet breakfast. Departure for an
excursion by boat (weather permitting) or by train to the famous Cinque Terre,
a group fo five villages suspended between the sea and earth, a unique
landscape. In the late afternoon return to hotel in La Spezia. Overnight.
Day 7 Friday: LA SPEZIA- PORTOVENERE- GENOA- MILAN
Buffet breakfast. Departure for Portovenere, an ancient fishing village. Then
continue to genoa, one of the most important ports in Italoy, and enjoy a visit
of the old city. Genoa was one of the so-called “Maritime Republics”
shipbuilding and banking support one of the largest and most powerful navies in
the Mediterranean. In the afternoon departure to Milan where the tour ends.
